Comment on "Food for Thought"

The article "Food for Thought" talks about food and how it reflects on international relations. Food is one of the best ways to describe costumes and traditions of a group or country, and it also describes how a nation interacts with others. This article made me think about the traditional food in my home country... Ah! by the way I am from Brazil!!!!

So, how I was saying the article made me think of the Brazilian traditional food and it relation with our history. The most typical Brazilian dishes named "Feijoada", black beens with pork meat, can tell us the history of the slavery and how they created this kind of food using what they were allowed to. Or if we look at the relation between Brazil and Portugal we can see the influences of the Portuguese cuisine.
It is really interesting how food can describe social, cultural, politic and economic characteristics of a country. Think about that next time you oder your diner because it can tell many things about you and your origins.
